Honoring the American History of the Great Lakes and Renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1 . Purpose and Policy . As I announced in Executive Order 14172 of January 20, 2025 (Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness), it is the policy of my Administration to recognize the extraordinary contributions of the American people and the rich heritage of our history by naming great natural landmarks for our shared achievements. The United States is the greatest protector of the Great Lakes, including the body of water currently known as Lake Ontario. Without the security and investment provided by the United States, this freshwater system would not be open for shipping, recreation, and responsible use to the same extent as it is today. The United States Coast Guard supplies 9 of the 11 ice breaking vessels on the Great Lakes, securing commercial shipping lanes free of charge. The United States has invested nearly $4 billion in protecting the Great Lakes freshwater ecosystem in the last decade, while Canada has invested far less in similar initiatives over the same period. Sec . 2 . Lake America . (a) The body of water currently known as Lake Ontario is a tremendous asset to the United States and part of our Nation’s heritage. With…

President Trump Delivers for Texas: Lower Taxes, Border Security, and Jobs Coming Home

Today, President Donald J. Trump returns to Texas with a record to match the visit: tax relief in workers’ pockets, the most secure border in a generation, safer streets, and a surge of private investment creating new American jobs across the state. President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts put money back in Texans’ pockets. No Tax on Overtime: Approximately one in four Texas workers no longer pay federal income taxes on qualifying overtime pay. No Tax on Social Security: About four million Texas seniors benefit from the new senior deduction. Bigger Refunds: Texas taxpayers saw average refunds of $4,344 — the second-highest in the nation. Rural Health Investments: Texas secured about $281 million in first-year Rural Health Transformation Program funding. Protecting Jobs and Wages: The Working Families Tax Cuts safeguarded 547,000 Texas jobs, $107 billion in state GDP, and $51 billion in workers’ wages. Violent crime is falling across the state as a result of President Trump’s law-and-order agenda. Violent crime fell 13% last year, including a 13% drop in murder and 11% drop in rape. NEVER SURRENDER: Karoline Leavitt’s Historic Tenure as White House Press Secretary

Today, Karoline Leavitt completes her final day as the 36th White House Press Secretary — the youngest person to ever hold the position and among the best ever to do it. She leaves the James S. Brady Briefing Room after a tenure defined by command, clarity, and an unrelenting defense of President Donald J. Trump and the America First agenda. President Trump called her “one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office” — and that’s the legacy she leaves behind. She refused to let reporters turn the briefing room into a stage for activism: “You’re a left-wing hack. You’re not a reporter. You’re posing in this room as a journalist… You and the people in the media who have such biases but fake like you’re a journalist — you shouldn’t even be sitting in that seat.” She rejected questions that didn’t deserve the dignity of longer replies: “What a stupid question.” She responded with facts: “All of them — because they illegally broke our nation’s laws and therefore, they are criminals.” She declared this…

The Department of Justice Files Complaints Against Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington Challenging State Laws that Provide In-State Tuition to Illegal Aliens

Today, the Department of Justice filed lawsuits against four states that seek to undermine federal law by placing aliens over citizens in clear defiance of Congress’s commands. The Department filed complaints against Arizona , New Mexico , Oregon , and Washington , challenging state laws that provide in-state tuition and financial assistance for illegal aliens. These laws unconstitutionally discriminate against U.S. citizens who are not afforded the same reduced tuition rates or scholarships, create incentives for illegal immigration, and reward illegal aliens with benefits that U.S. citizens are not eligible for, all in direct conflict with federal law.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Further Ensures Affordable Beef for the American Consumer

ADDRESSING BEEF AFFORDABILITY WITH TARGETED ACTION: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed a Proclamation to temporarily increase the quantity of lean beef trimmings that are imported with no above-quota tariff to ensure affordable beef for American consumers in light of current supply challenges. This action includes key safeguards to maximize cost savings while protecting American ranchers from foreign imports and giving space for American ranchers to grow the domestic herd. The Proclamation temporarily expands the existing quantity of lean beef trimmings that are subject to an in-quota tariff rate, to produce ground beef, allowing trading partners eligible to ship beef to the United States to take advantage of lower, in-quota tariff rates. This expanded quota has the following limitations: It only applies for 90 days, beginning on September 1, 2026. It only allows 100,000 tons per month. (USDA projects U.S. beef production in 2026 to be over 11 million tons.) It only applies to lean beef trimmings to combine with U.S. beef for ground beef. It encourages beef to be sold at a 25% discount from the going import price.…

Further Ensuring Affordable Beef for the American Consumer

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1. In Proclamation 11010 of February 6, 2026 (Ensuring Affordable Beef for the American Consumer), I found that cattle ranchers in the United States have played, and continue to play, an integral role in food production for the United States; that the United States is the world’s largest consumer of beef and is a large importer of beef; that, because of recent circumstances, beef prices have increased unreasonably for United States consumers; that imports into the United States of certain beef products, including lean beef trimmings, are currently subject to the United States tariff-rate quota (TRQ) for beef; and that the United States supply of lean beef trimmings or directly competitive or substitutable agricultural products will be inadequate to meet domestic demand at reasonable prices because of a natural disaster and major national market disruption. Accordingly, in Proclamation 11010, I took action to address the elevated beef prices for United States consumers, including the elevated price of ground beef. Specifically, I increased the in-quota amount for lean beef trimmings from Argentina…

SECURING AMERICA’S BULK-POWER SYSTEM: Today, President Donald J. To deal with the threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, the Order, among other things, generally prohibits certain foreign-produced bulk-power system electric equipment, including associated critical software and digital capabilities that could pose cybersecurity or operational risks, from being purchased or installed in the United States, or appropriately conditions such purchases and installations to address those risks. President Trump Is Finally Ending Canada’s Free Ride

Canada has been ripping off the United States for decades — and President Donald J. Trump is done letting them get away with it. Last week, the U.S. offered Canada the most preferential market access of any country on Earth, with deep cuts on steel, aluminum, autos, lumber, and more. Instead of partnership, Canada chose unreasonable demands, walk-backs, and flat-out rejection. FACT: Canada is joined only by the People’s Republic of China in choosing retaliation over negotiation. Their continued discriminatory treatment of U.S. commerce has burdened American workers, farmers, and businesses. FACT: Canada alone imposed discriminatory 25% tariffs and company-specific quotas on U.S. motor vehicles — measures applied to no other country. As a result, U.S. vehicle exports to Canada crashed 22% over the last year. FACT: Canada banned American wine, beer, and spirits in nearly every province and territory — while other countries have faced no such restrictions. As a result, U.S. alcohol exports to Canada collapsed 81% in a single year. FACT: Canada locks out U.S. dairy with tariff-rate quotas far more restrictive than those given to Europe,…

Ford CEO Jim Farley was unambiguous : “We made this decision as soon as the policy of the Administration was set.” Ford joins a rapidly expanding roster of automakers expanding their U.S. footprint and returning production to American soil: Toyota is investing $3.6 billion to shift Tacoma production from Mexico to its San Antonio, Texas, plant — creating 2,000 high-quality jobs and doubling the facility’s size. Honda is producing its next-generation Civic in Indiana rather than Mexico to avoid tariffs — locking in approximately 210,000 units of annual U.S. output. General Motors is investing $4 billion to move production of the Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox from Mexico to plants in Tennessee and Kansas, while shifting Buick Envision production from China to…

Temporary Suspension of Additional Duties to Offset Canadian Discrimination Against the Commerce of the United States with Respect to Alcoholic Beverages, Dairy, and Motor Vehicles

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1. In Proclamation 11046 of July 20, 2026 (Imposing Additional Duties to Offset Canadian Discrimination Against the Commerce of the United States With Respect to Alcoholic Beverages), I found as a fact that Canada is discriminating against the commerce of the United States by banning the purchase, distribution, or retailing of U.S. alcoholic beverages while not banning or similarly restricting such products from other countries; that this discrimination places the commerce of the United States at a disadvantage compared to the commerce of other countries; and that Canada’s imposition is unreasonable, is not equally enforced upon the like articles of every foreign country, and places a burden on the commerce of the United States. To offset the burden or disadvantage on U.S. commerce from Canada’s discrimination or unreasonable and unequal imposition on U.S. alcoholic beverages, I imposed under section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1338) (section 338) additional ad valorem duties, effective August 19, 2026, on certain imports of Canada. 2. President Trump Delivers the Largest Drop in Violent Crime in American History

President Donald J. Trump and his Administration have delivered the most dramatic decline in violent crime in American history. According to the FBI’s newly released Uniform Crime Report for 2025 , America is safer than it has been in generations. Violent crime plunged 9.3% in 2025 — the largest annual decline on record. Murder dropped 18.1% — tying the lowest rate in recorded history. Robbery fell 18.5% — resulting in nearly 38,500 fewer robberies. Rape declined 7.6% — resulting in more than 10,000 fewer victims. Aggravated assault fell 7.2% — resulting in over 62,700 fewer attacks. Property crime dropped 12.4% — the second-largest decline in history, with nearly 750,000 fewer offenses. These numbers — in line with the Council on Criminal Justice , Major Cities Chiefs Association , and many other sources — mark the decisive reversal of the crime crisis Democrats left behind. Meanwhile, preliminary data for the first half of 2026 shows the decline continuing and deepening, with violent crime down an additional 10.6%, murder down another 23%, rape down 18.6%, and robberies down 19.6% compared to the…

Presidential Message on National Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week

The citizen warriors of the National Guard and Reserve carry forward a tradition as old as our Republic itself, building careers in the communities they serve while answering our Nation’s call in its hour of need. Their service strengthens our communities, powers our economy, and keeps our military second to none. During National Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week, we honor our heroes in uniform and the patriotic employers who stand behind them—a partnership that sustains our all-volunteer force and secures the cause of American freedom. National Guardsmen and Reservists across our great country are fellow Americans who teach our children, raise our buildings, grow our food, care for our sick, and strengthen our economy. When their country summons them, they answer without hesitation by deploying overseas as part of our Armed Forces or responding here at home to hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and other crises with fearless resolve. Since returning to office, I have directed the National Guard to restore law and order, secure our borders, and protect our communities. I have mobilized National Guardsmen to some of…

President Trump Delivers Largest Prescription Drug Price Drop in Over 60 Years

President Donald J. Trump promised to slash prescription drug prices — and he has delivered. New data confirms prescription drug prices just recorded their largest annual decline in more than 60 years, the steepest drop since 1963, as the Trump Administration’s landmark Most Favored Nation policies take hold. President Trump is the first President to actually lower prescription drug prices — a direct result of his bold action. Through Most Favored Nation pricing, 17 of the world’s largest drugmakers — covering approximately 86% of the branded drug market — have agreed to bring U.S. prices in line with the lowest paid by comparable developed nations, ending decades of Americans subsidizing cheaper drugs abroad and forcing fair pricing for patients at home. The Trump Administration’s revolutionary TrumpRx platform has already generated $700 million in savings for millions of American patients. GLP-1 medications that once cost over $1,000 a month are now available starting as low as $149. Fertility drugs, inhalers, insulin, cholesterol treatments, and dozens of other high-cost drugs have seen cuts of 50–90% or more. Prescription drug prices are down…

Presidential Message on the Anniversary of Winning World War II

Today, our Nation celebrates the 81st anniversary of Imperial Japan’s unconditional surrender—the moment American might brought the Second World War to its end in complete and total victory. On this monumental occasion, we pay tribute to the grit and sacrifice of the warriors who defended our homeland and carried the hopes of the free world upon their shoulders. The road to our victory began in fire at Pearl Harbor, where Imperial Japan’s infamous attack summoned a peaceful Nation to arms. Meeting that assault head-on, the warfighters of the Greatest Generation crossed thousands of miles of open sea, turned the tide of the conflict at Midway, broke the enemy fleet at Leyte Gulf, and seized the fortress islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Each of those battles was waged against a fierce and unyielding enemy that tested the strength of American resolve like never before. In the end, the unbreakable will of America’s Armed Forces drove an empire of conquest to its knees, freed millions from its brutal occupation, and left the American Flag flying over a Pacific restored to freedom.…

Presidential Message on the Anniversary of the Social Security Act

Today, our Nation commemorates 91 years since President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the landmark Social Security Act into law. For more than nine decades, this program has stood as a fundamental promise at the heart of American life, guaranteeing that the men and women who built our country, raised our families, and powered the greatest economy on Earth can live out their later years with the security and prosperity they earned. As President, I will always defend Social Security, protect America’s seniors, and invest in the dedicated workers who form the backbone of our Republic. To that end, I proudly signed the Working Families Tax Cuts Act into law, which eliminated federal taxes on Social Security benefits for millions of seniors—the largest tax break in history for older Americans—empowering them to keep more of what they have earned through a lifetime of work. Within a single year, more than 35 million senior citizens have claimed an average deduction of over $7,500, providing real savings for households all across America during tax season. This relief will continue to strengthen the financial…

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Rebuilds the U.S. Navy and America’s Shipbuilding Industrial Base

TRANSFORMING U.S. SHIPBUILDING: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed a National Security Presidential Memorandum to fix critical long-term issues in Navy shipbuilding and ship repair programs and restore capacity and competition to the maritime industrial base. The Memorandum directs the Secretary of War to replace the Advanced Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems and the Advanced Weapons Elevators with traditional steam and hydraulic systems during the construction of CVN-81. The Memorandum directs the Department of War to pursue more direct investments in the American shipbuilding industrial base based off of the successful “Finland model,” which was first employed with the Coast Guard’s medium icebreaker program. As foreign shipbuilders make substantial and durable investments into America’s shipyards and train an all-American workforce for the jobs they create, they will be temporarily permitted to build up to two ships in their parent shipyards that will be delivered to bridge gaps on a quick turnaround, while additional ships will be built in revitalized American shipyards. The Memorandum directs the Secretary of War to establish a fifth Naval shipyard, the first in over 80 years, to…

Adjusting Imports of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Components into the United States

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1. Within the past 90 days, the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) transmitted to me a report on his investigation into the effects of imports of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), as well as their parts and components (together, UAS components), on the national security of the United States under section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, as amended, 19 U.S.C. 1862 (section 232). Based on the facts considered in that investigation, and taking into account the close relation of the economic welfare of the Nation to our national security and other relevant factors, see section 232(d) (19 U.S.C. 1862(d)), the Secretary found and advised me of his opinion that UAS and UAS components are being imported into the United States in such quantities and under such circumstances as to threaten to impair the national security of the United States and provided recommendations for action under section 232 to adjust the imports of UAS and UAS components so that such imports will not threaten to impair the national security of the…

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF WAR THE DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET THE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR NATIONAL SECURITY AFFAIRS SUBJECT: Rebuilding the United States Navy and America’s Shipbuilding Industrial Base By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 301 of title 3, United States Code, I hereby direct: Section 1 . Purpose . The United States Navy has experienced a series of shipbuilding setbacks stemming from overly complex designs and iterative design change procedures, which have resulted in cost growth, delays, and cancellations. The lack of capacity and competition among shipbuilders has resulted in large backlogs of orders across six major Navy shipbuilding programs and a commercial shipbuilding sector that is not globally competitive. An atrophied shipbuilding industrial base, coupled with diminished adjacent supplier bases, has expanded delays and increased costs. The Department of War shall restore both capacity and competition to the maritime industrial base as it expands our naval force structure. It will use proven, reliable, and affordable technologies…

National Substance Use Primary Prevention Month, 2026

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA This National Substance Use Primary Prevention Month, we renew our pledge to safeguard our children, friends, families, and communities from the devastating reach of illicit drugs by stopping addiction before it ever begins. Substance abuse remains among the gravest threats confronting our country, poisoning neighborhoods, shattering families, and destroying lives filled with promise. Our Nation’s youth stand among the most targeted and vulnerable, susceptible at an impressionable age to influences that can draw them into a life-threatening cycle of dependency. Every young life claimed by this scourge represents a future torn from our national story, a tragedy whose grief echoes throughout households and hometowns. My Administration has confronted this crisis with unwavering resolve to protect American lives. I proudly signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law, permanently classifying fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs, and I designated nearly a dozen cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Our southern border now stands as the most secure in American history, stopping the flood of illegal aliens, deadly narcotics, and criminal traffickers before they can…
